Zaman writes that Chief of the General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug, who paid a surprise visit to the Presidency last Sunday, held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan yesterday. The Daily says that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of the General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug held a 140-minute meeting ahead of a high level military council meeting in which promotions and retirements in the army are decided.

Sabah quotes former Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Sinyora as having said that Turkey balanced Iran. Sinyora said further that Turkey to continue its relations with Israel and to use it for a resolution was in the interest of the Arab world. Former Lebanese prime minister who opposed discussions regarding Turkey's change of axis said that Ankara hasn't changed its axis but expanded with its Middle East, Russia and Africa drives.

Haber Turk says that the Assembly of Turkish-American Associations organized the screening of documentary "The Armenian Revolt" about the Armenian revolt in Ottoman Empire and further developments. The Daily writes Bruce Fein, former legal adviser to late US ex-president Ronald Reagan, made opening remarks before the screening and said there was no genocide during 1915 events. He said Armenians were only displaced within the Ottoman Empire.

Cumhuriyet says that the initial step for establishing a free trade zone among Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon has been made. The Daily reports that within the context of the project "high-level quartet cooperation council" will be set up to establish a zone among the four countries where there will be free movement of products and people.

Star quotes Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay who paid a visit to Karaman as having said that the number of tourists visiting Antalya this year was about to reach 10 million. Ertuğrul Günay said "The number of tourists visiting Turkey was 27 million in 2009".

Yeni Şafak writes that Turkey that the abolition of visa requirements with 63 countries affected the tourism revenues. The Daily reports that tourism revenues of April, May and June rose by 7.4 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 4.5 billion Dollars.

3.6 billion dollars of revenues was spent by foreigners visiting Turkey.
