According to the UN World Tourism Organisation, tourism industry is recovering and global growth is led by Asia.
In 2009, tourism sector suffered one of the biggest blows in the past 20 years, seeing a 4% decline in overall tourist figures. Recession stemmed from financial crisis and swine flu epidemic, compelling people to tighten their belts.
Experts say tourism is on the way to recovery and people allocate funds for travelling. Unto expects a 4% growth in the sector, which is close to the average growth in the past 15 years.
Asian continent leads the growth trend, marking a 12% increase in ınternational tourism figures in 4 months' time from January to April. World average is about 7%.
